Psalms: 20,21,61
Moment of Silence
I have calmed and quieted my soul (Ps. 131:2a)
Request for Presence
In times of trouble, may the Lord answer your cry.
May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm.
May he send you help from his sanctuary (Ps. 20:1-2a)
Our Father, who is in Heaven...
May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory
and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. (Ps. 20:5a)
Express thankful praise for who God is and what he has done
Gloria Patri
Your Kingdom come, your will be done...
Some nations boast of their chariots and horses,
but we boast in the name of the Lord our God.
Those nations will fall down and collapse,
but we will rise up and stand firm. (Ps. 20:7-8)
Pray for God's kingdom to increase locally and globally
Give us this day, our daily bread...
How the king rejoices in your strength, O Lord!
He shouts with joy because you give him victory.
For you have given him his heart's desire;
you have withheld nothing he requested. (Ps. 21:1-2)
Bring practical needs and anxieties to the Father
Forgive us our sins...
May your unfailing love and faithfulness watch over him.
Then I will sing praises to your name forever
as I fulfill my vows each day. (Ps. 61:7b-8)
Spend a moment in quiet confession and pray for healing of relational conflict
And lead us not into temptation...
O God, listen to my cry!
Hear my prayer!
From the ends of the earth,
I cry to you for help
when my heart is overwhelmed.
Lead me to the towering rock of safety,
for you are my safe refuge,
a fortress where my enemies cannot reach me.
Let me live forever in your sanctuary,
safe beneath the shelter of your wings! (Ps. 61:1-4)
Request the Spirit's wisdom and protection to walk in God's ways
Closing Benediction
May he grant your heart's desires
and make all your plans succeed…
May the Lord answer all your prayers. (Ps. 20:4,5b)
