Psalms: 13,22
Moment of Silence
I have calmed and quieted my soul (Ps. 131:2a)
Request for Presence
My God, my God, why have you abandoned me?
Why are you so far away when I groan for help?
Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer.
Every night I lift my voice, but I find no relief. (Ps. 22:1-2)
Our Father, who is in Heaven...
I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters.
I will praise you among your assembled people. (Ps. 22:22)
Express thankful praise for who God is and what he has done
Gloria Patri
Your Kingdom come, your will be done...
The poor will eat and be satisfied.
All who seek the Lord will praise him.
Their hearts will rejoice with everlasting joy.
The whole earth will acknowledge the Lord and return to him.
All the families of the nations will bow down before him.
For royal power belongs to the Lord.
He rules all the nations. (Ps. 22:26-28)
Pray for God's kingdom to increase locally and globally
Give us this day, our daily bread...
You brought me safely from my mother's womb
and led me to trust you at my mother's breast.
I was thrust into your arms at my birth.
You have been my God from the moment I was born. (Ps. 22:9-10)
Bring practical needs and anxieties to the Father
Forgive us our sins...
How long must I struggle with anguish in my soul,
with sorrow in my heart every day?
How long will my enemy have the upper hand.
Turn and answer me, O Lord my God!
Restore the sparkle to my eyes, or I will die. (Ps. 13:2-3)
Spend a moment in quiet confession and pray for healing of relational conflict
And lead us not into temptation...
O Lord, do not stay far away!
You are my strength; come quickly to my aid! (Ps. 22:19)
Request the Spirit's wisdom and protection to walk in God's ways
Closing Benediction
Praise the Lord, all you who fear him! (Ps. 22:23a)
