Psalms: 138,139,140,119:89-96
Moment of Silence
I have calmed and quieted my soul (Ps. 131:2a)
Request for Presence
As soon as I pray, you answer me;
you encourage me by giving me strength. (Ps. 138:3)
Our Father, who is in Heaven...
I give you thanks, O Lord, with all my heart;
I will sing your praises before the gods. (Ps. 138:1)
Express thankful praise for who God is and what he has done
Gloria Patri
Your Kingdom come, your will be done...
Every king in all the earth will thank you, Lord,
for all of them will hear your words.
Yes, they will sing about the Lord's ways,
for the glory of the Lord is very great. (Ps. 138:4-5)
Pray for God's kingdom to increase locally and globally
Give us this day, our daily bread...
The Lord will work out his plans for my life—
for your faithful love, O Lord, endures forever.
Don't abandon me, for you made me. (Ps. 138:8)
Bring practical needs and anxieties to the Father
Forgive us our sins...
Search me, O God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
Point out anything in me that offends you,
and lead me along the path of everlasting life. (Ps. 139:23-24)
Spend a moment in quiet confession and pray for healing of relational conflict
And lead us not into temptation...
Your eternal word, O Lord,
stands firm in heaven.
Your faithfulness extends to every generation,
as enduring as the earth you created.
Your regulations remain true to this day,
for everything serves your plans. (Ps. 119:89-91)
Request the Spirit's wisdom and protection to walk in God's ways
Closing Benediction
I can never escape from your Spirit!
I can never get away from your presence!
If I go up to heaven, you are there;
If I go down to the grave, you are there.
If I ride the wings of the morning,
if I dwell by the farthest oceans,
even there your hand will guide me,
and your strength will support me. (Ps. 139:7-10)
